Donald S. McCorquodale, Ph.D.

Adjunct Professor
(954) 262-3600

  • B.S. Biology, Florida Atlantic University, 1969, minor in Chemistry
  • M.S. Microbiology, Florida Atlantic University, 1971
  • Ph.D. Nova University Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography, 1987

Area(s) of Research

Marine microbiology, marine pollution and toxicology, and analytical techniques and methods.

Statement of Teaching Philosophy

  • Undergraduate education gives students access to information and where to find it
  • Graduate Studies encourage students to think independently and form judgments they can justify and support with tested evidence
  • The study of environmental pollution is subject to students’ preconceptions reflecting current popular thought
  • The current popular assessment of the significance of marine pollution may be right or wrong. The grounds on which the assessment is based must be determined by scientific evidence not emotional views
