LaVena Wilkin, Ph.D.

Director of the Ph.D. and Graduate Management Programs

Dr. LaVena Wilkin is the Director of the Ph.D. and Graduate Management programs at Sullivan Dr. LaVena Wilkin University.  LaVena has facilitated workshops, presented at conferences, and written articles on workplace bullying, forgiveness, emotional intelligence, change management, dealing with difficult people, and the P.E.A.C.E. © Model of Conflict Management.  She also developed a course on conflict management for the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (C.I.T.I.).

She contributed a chapter to Dr. Georgakopoulos’ book, The Mediation Handbook: Research, Theory, and Practice.  LaVena’s co-edited book, From Discord to Harmony: Making Your Workplace Hum, was published in March 2020.  Recently, she received a contract to co-edit a book entitled The Handbook of Organizational Conflict Management, with an expected publication date of July 2022. Finally, she is the Editor of the Journal of Conflict Management.

In 2020, LaVena was a finalist for Faculty Member of the Year at Sullivan University.  She has given talks for Unity of Louisville and Unity of East Louisville on forgiveness, joy, kindness, and trusting our inner self.  She previously served on the Board of Directors for the Society for Prevention of Aggression and Violence Among Adolescents (S.P.A.V.A.).  She is a past Vice-President for the Board of Directors of Unity of East Louisville.
