Manuel Salinas is a Professor of Engineering and co-founder of Nova Southeastern University's engineering program. He mentors students through biomedical engineering courses and research. He also founded the Florida Engineering Society Student Chapter at NSU, which earned the Town of Davie Sustainability Award for advancing community green initiatives. His research on cardiovascular biomechanics has been published in journals such as Inflammation, Circulation Research, and the Journal of Biomechanics.
He presents this work at national and international conferences, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Society for Thermal and Fluids Engineering (STFE), and the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) Congress. Salinas has received support from the Florida Heart Research Foundation's Researcher of the Year Award and NSU's President's Research Grant.
He also previously served as an NIH reviewer, contributing to national research priorities in vascular biology and bioengineering.
