Art and Design Lecture Series : Bridging the Gap -
Carol Prusa
Contemporary Silverpoint and Fiberglass Artist
Born in Chicago, Carol Prusa lives and works in South Florida and exhibits internationally. She is a mid-career contemporary artist known for her meticulous silverpoint technique and use of unexpected materials from sculpted resin and fiberglass to metal leaf and LED lights. Prusa creates a new vision of the powers of the universe inspired by cosmology and all of the natural sciences.
Prusa exhibits internationally, including Bernice Steinbaum Gallery (Miami) and Bluerider Art (Taipei). Her work is included in excellent public and private collections, including the Perez Art Museum (Miami), The Museum of Arts and Design (NYC), Telfair Art Museum (Savannah), and the Francie Bishop Good and David Horvitz Collection.

Art + Design Lecture Series : Bridging the Gap - Oksana Nedavniaya
Costume Concept Artist
Since 2006, costume concept artist, Oksana Nedavniaya, has illustrated for major Hollywood productions. Her work is featured in The Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian, Suicide Squad, Bright, Aquaman, Venom, Tenet, and The Opening Ceremony of the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi. Most recently, she's completed work for The Wheel of Time, Three Thousand Years of Longing, Hawkeye, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Westworld: Season 4, and the latest Marvel blockbuster, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Russian-born and educated, Oksana studied classical piano before moving to Los Angeles. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from California State University, Long Beach and kick-started her dream career in visual arts via an invitation from award-winning costume designer, Isis Mussenden.
Guest Artist Exhibition: Amanda Madrigal
The Guest Artist Exhibition is a FREE event sponsored by the Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts. This year we welcome New World School of the Arts alumnus Amanda Madrigal, a Miami-based fiber artist who builds figurative forms and environments using repurposed materials sourced from local thrift stores. This September, Gallery 217 will showcase a mixed media installation of Madrigal’s soft sculptures that explore interpersonal relationships, nature, architecture, and the mind-body connection.

NSU’s Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts and its B.A. in Music program
present the spring concert “A Million Dreams” featuring the NSU Mako Band and the
Bossa Nova Chorale. The student musical ensembles, directed by NSU music faculty,
will perform music with a rock twist, including songs from Heart, Annie Lennox and
Aerosmith.

The Maltese Falcon: A Radio Show
Radio Play, Drama, Ages 13+. In this noir classic, detective Sam Spade gets more than
they bargained for when they take a case brought by a beautiful but secretive person.
As soon as Wonderly shows up, trouble follows as Sam's partner is murdered and Sam
is accosted by someone demanding they locate a valuable statuette. Sam, entangled
in a dangerous web of crime and intrigue, soon realizes they must find the one thing
