Education:
Linda Payne received a Bachelor's in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz, majoring in gold and silversmithing, then continued on for another 30 hours of graduate level study in studio art and art history. She earned a Master's degree from both Florida International University and Nova Southeastern University. Payne worked for Broward public schools as a fine arts teacher for over 30 years, has been an adjunct art professor at Broward College for 22 years, and began teaching at NSU in the Fine Arts department in 2010. She has traveled extensively and sponsored student tours to Europe. Payne is a practicing artist and an active member in several art guilds and organizations, including Gold Coast Watercolor Society. Her work, which is predominately watercolor, has been exhibited in a number of galleries, including the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and the juried Hortt exhibit held at the NSU Art Museum.
