Dance Program Audition

Dance Major Audition Dates for 2025:

10am-12pm Don Taft University Center Rm. 220 (Performance Theatre)

· January 18, 2025

· February 22, 2025

· March 15, 2025

· April 19, 2025 (Virtual audition)

Two steps are required to become a dance major at Nova Southeastern University:

1. Apply to NSU. Prospective students should complete this process as soon as possible, or at least two weeks before the scheduled audition date: apply for admission to NSU

2. Participate in a dance audition class and perform a 1-2 minute solo.

NOTE: In-person auditions are strongly encouraged.

What to Expect for an in-person audition

· Prepare a solo dance in the style of your choice. Please let us know if you choreographed the dance or if you worked with someone on your audition piece.

· Participate in a group audition dance class.

· Immediately following the audition, you will meet with the dance faculty for a brief, informal interview to discuss your individual academic and artistic goals. The interview is an opportunity for the faculty to get to know you as well as an opportunity for you to address any questions you may have about the dance program at NSU.

Note: You may hear about your acceptance to NSU before you have auditioned. Acceptance to the University does not mean you have been admitted to the dance program.
