Education:
Whitney Lehmann, Ph.D., APR, is an assistant professor of communication for Nova Southeastern University’s Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts (DCMA) in the Halmos College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches a variety of undergraduate communications courses including public relations writing, principles of public relations, public relations campaigns, and social media theory and practice. She also oversees the department’s communications internship program, which offers communication majors experience working in social media, web writing and marketing.
Her industry experience includes serving as a public relations manager for Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida; social media manager for Miami International Airport; communications coordinator and web writer for Barry University; reporter for The Miami Herald; and communications manager for NSU’s DCMA.
Lehmann holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Miami, a master's degree in print journalism from the University of Miami, and a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Florida. Lehmann is accredited in public relations (APR) by the Universal Accreditation Board. In 2018, she was nominated as Communicator of the Year by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Greater Fort Lauderdale Chapter.
