Research Concentration

NSU’s M.S. in Biological Sciences—Research Concentration is one of the most research-oriented programs in the United States. Nearly 50 percent of program credits are devoted to research in the thesis path and research proposal development is required for entry. 

Graduate students will benefit from faculty who are experts in the fields of biological sciences.  Faculty research includes areas such as:

  • parasite ecology
  • pathogen and invasion biology
  • conservation genetics & ecology
  • biophysical computer modeling
  • primate, and nonhuman primate genetics
  • antibiotic resistance
