The Social Justice Roundtable (SJR) was started by students in MACS as a result of a class in Family Violence offered in the Summer of 2008 and the desire to continue the discussion about violence prevention and intervention. The SJR provides a means to examine and discuss topics related to human rights and social justice. The roundtable is symbolic of our desire to invite everyone to the table as colleagues, with a respect for differences and diversity and as equal participants for lively discussion and debate. All NSU's Halmos College students are invited to join and all NSU students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend and participate.
Starting in the Fall of 2008, the SJR has hosted the following roundtables:
In addition to our discussions, members of the SJR have also participated in events such as the UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture.
