Sea Turtle Programs

South Florida's beaches offer incredible opportunities to connect with sea turtles up close! Whether you dream of seeing a massive loggerhead nesting under the stars, or cheering on a wave of hatchlings as they dash to the sea, there's an experience waiting for you.

Sea Turtle Nesting Walks

Observe a loggerhead sea turtle nesting event (typically June and July). Reservations are required for all walks.

Sea Turtle Hatchling Releases

Observe hatchlings journey to the ocean (typically July and August). Pre-registration and ticket purchase required for all releases.

Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program

For over 30 years, NSU has been contracted by Broward County to implement and manage the Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program, which monitors sea turtle nesting activity on over 24 miles of Broward County beaches.
