2023 Events

 

  • Saturday Feb 18th 2023: Hosting Florida Association of Mu Alpha Theta (FAMAT) statewide math competition for grades 6-12 on NSU’s main campus all day.  This is a major event and we need a lot of volunteers and assistance on the day of the event.  Please let me know if you will be available on that day to assist in anything from check-in to dispute center adjudication to helping welcome and proctoring.

 

  • Tuesday March 14th 2023: Pi Day event will take place from 12:15-1:30 outside of the Parker Building on the east entrance.  Food, fun, and prizes.  Save the date.

 

  • Tuesday March 28th 2023:  The Math Club’s Math Jeopardy will take place.  This is always a fun event.

 

 

  • TBA in April 2023:  Math Brain Bowl is back hosted by Dr. Ricardo Carrera…exciting details to follow shortly.

 

  • Monday April 24th 2023: STEM for Tweens outreach at the Alvin Sherman Library in Mathematics of Finance for Financial Literacy Month from 4-5PM (Math Club will help with volunteers.)
  • Congratulations to the October 2021 Integration Bee Winners
    • 1st Place: Triet Minh Do
    • 2nd Place Tie: Isadora De Abreu
    • 2nd Place Tie: Charlie Sanchez
  • Congratulations to our graduating mathematics majors.
  • Congratulations to the 2016 Math Brain Bowl participants on a great competition.
  • Halmos faculty and students explore Math with children at the STEM session Making Predictions on April 14, 2016.
  • Halmos math faculty volunteer as Dispute Center judges at the 2016 Ferguson Mu Alpha Theta regional competition on Saturday February 13, 2016.

The following mathematical programs and events are open to undergraduates and the general public.
